Some Of The Best Things To Do In Lanzarote (The Canary Islands)

I am sure that you are frustrated with staying indoors because of the coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic has actually stopped us from travelling anywhere in the world. There have been rampant travel restrictions in every single country that has been affected by the virus, which means that we haven’t been able to travel wherever we want to, in the past year. 2020 has been the year where everybody stayed at home. Well, if everybody promptly stayed at home, the pandemic would have ended by now. Travelling is something that we haven’t been able to do this year, and we will probably not be able to do so until there is a vaccine which is going to be circulated.

Lanzarote, which is a place in the Canary Islands, happens to be a wonderful island. It is also the fourth largest of the Canary Islands. It is located just off of the North African coast. It has also been given the status of ‘biosphere reserve’ which is also a protected site by UNESCO.

Canary Islands

It is a protected site because it has some very scenic volcanic landscapes and some of the most gorgeous beaches in the world. In this guide, I will list out some very fun things to do if you are in Lanzarote.

You definitely have to visit Timanfaya National Park. This place is known for having spectacular views. The landscape has been preserved since the 18th century, because there was a lot of erupted volcanic activity back then. There is also a restaurant which is inside the park which offers some panoramic views of the beautiful landscape which surrounds the restaurant.

Mirador del Rio: It happens to be a magnificent viewpoint which is over the small island of La Graciosa, and it was beautifully designed by the favourite artist and architect of the island. It is also situated above sea level, and it is built in a very fashionable way. It is in harmony with the surrounding landscape and also the lava rock. There is even a boutique shop and even a cafe, from where you can enjoy the magnificent views, views that you will not get anywhere else.

Lanzarote

You should also try diving. Lanzarote happens to be an amazingly famous place for its white-sand beaches and an abundance of marine life. Scuba-diving offers you views of reefs and shipwrecks, which you are allowed to explore. You will also be able to take a training course in diving. You can snorkel for free, if you do not want to go ahead with scuba-diving.

This suggestion actually goes without saying, but you have to visit all the famous beaches when you are in Lanzarote.
